It has been a while...

Where does the time go!? I have been meaning to update the blog for some time now, but its been a little crazy since the last post.

So, why have I been so busy? Well since April, I took a trip to America for 3 weeks. This was my first time stateside and it was incredible! I also go married in August, followed by a honeymoon to the GORGEOUS Lake Como. And in between all that, I have been working on new products, as well as a large project which has been months in the making.

I was approached by The May Fair Hotel in London's luxury Mayfair, to design a Christmas display for this year for 4 of their main windows. The May Fair Hotel has always been known for its designer windows during London Fashion Week, and this year, they wanted to extend their window collaboration into the Christmas season, working with globally recognised brands all from the Mayfair district and welcome visitors to come and see the display and post on social media using a hashtag.

The brief: A winter-ey snow scene, incorporated with forest trees, reindeer, and some famous london landmarks. I love a challenge, and quickly came up with a concept. We also wanted to make the installation stand out and be completely unique. It was decided that an advent calendar type of display was also incorporated in to the design, and each day, a box would be opened through December, featuring famous brands within Mayfair.

For many, the hotel is a focal point of Mayfair and from a personal perspective it’s a fabulous space, with an international audience and a great opportunity to show case my work. Paper is a humble material, one of craft, provoking memories of wrapped presents and hand-written letters and the installation aims to preserve the comfort and romance of the home Christmas and hopefully inspires gift ideas for loved ones this holiday season

The calendar will go live on 1st of December, revealing the very best of Mayfair’s community including Temperley, La Perla, Pickett and Sophia Webster who will all be offering a gift or store experience to guests of the hotel or members of the public each day.

The window display was completed last week, but the advent calendar will go live from the 1st December. Its been such a fun and amazing project to work on and I can't wait to see  how people react to it.
